Dead Silence by Kimberly Derting
I just finished reading Dead Silence by Kimberly Derting. It is the fourth and final book in the Body Finder series. This series is about Violet Ambrose a teenage girl with the ability to sense echoes of the dead whom have been murdered. Violet can also sense imprints on the person responsible for the killing. In the previous book the Last Echo Violet joined a secret organization of other paranormal teenagers with different abilities. In this final book it did seem that the author rushed through the book. The author did reveal some more knowledge about Violet's ability and about her grandmother. Violet started reading her grandmother's journals and it reveals some secrets from the past and you find out a little bit more about the organization that violet is involved in. Her grandmother was also involved in an organization similar to the one she is in except her grandmother called the circle of seven and they were not on the good side of the law. In the Last Echo, Violet was threatened when she wanted to quit the "team", so she continued on. In Dead Silence Violet continues to work with the team, but the author never told us who was behind the scenes. It does make you wonder if the author may continue with the story and maybe write about one of the other characters in the story, possibly Rafe! I did enjoy the book, but it was not my favorite of the series. I believe the Last Echo was my favorite and the most dark of them all. I would give the book an overall rating of 3.5 stars because it was pretty badass what jay did in then end going after the killer!
