Wrong by Jana Aston

Wrong by Jana Aston is her first debut title. I've been in one of those reading slumps where you just don't know what to read next. I found myself on amazon searching for my next read. The cover and the title of this book had me intrigued. Then I read the synopsis and couldn't resist diving in.

"I have a history of picking the wrong guy. Gay? Player? Momma’s boy? Check, check and check.

Now I can’t stop fantasizing about one of the customers at the coffee shop I work at between classes. It’s just a harmless crush, right? It’s not like I ever see this guy outside of the coffee shop. It’s not like I’m going to see him while attempting to get birth control at the student clinic. While wearing a paper gown. While sitting on an exam table. Because he’s the doctor. Shoot. Me.

But what if, for once, the man I’ve had the dirtiest, most scandalous fantasies about turned out to be everything but wrong?"

This book was just what I was looking for. Sophie was honest and hilarious. She said exactly what was on her mind at the time and it was refreshing. Luke could give McDreamy a run for his money. Luke gives off that hot aplha male personna and lets just say,  I would not mind being his patient.

I'm hoping to see more work form Jana Aston in the near future.

I'm honored to participate in the cover reveal of Every Last Breath by Jennifer L. Armentrout! I'm also excited to announce there is new cover  jackets available for the previous books in the Dark Elements series.  I personally cannot wait until July 28, and I may just have to read the entire series all over again. If you plan on doing this also the reading order is as follows: Bitter Sweet Love(prequel story about Dez and Jasmine), White Hot Kiss, Stone Cold Touch, and Every Last Breath. I have included links to each book and pre-order links for Every Last Breath.

EVERY LAST BREATH Synopsis:

Some loves will last 'til your dying breath

Every choice has consequences—but seventeen-year-old Layla faces tougher choices than most. Light or darkness. Wickedly sexy demon prince Roth, or Zayne, the gorgeous, protective Warden she never thought could be hers. Hardest of all, Layla has to decide which side of herself to trust.

Layla has a new problem, too. A Lilin—the deadliest of demons—has been unleashed, wreaking havoc on those around her…including her best friend. To keep Sam from a fate much, much worse than death, Layla must strike a deal with the enemy while saving her city—and her race—from destruction.

Torn between two worlds and two different boys, Layla has no certainties, least of all survival, especially when an old bargain comes back to haunt them all. But sometimes, when secrets are everywhere and the truth seems unknowable, you have to listen to your heart, pick a side—and then fight like hell…

Insidious by Aleatha Romig

"I was death, slow and insidious. I killed everything around me. That is what I've been told since before I could remember. My mother had been right. I shouldn't have been born. Now, Karma was paying me back..."

Insidious by Aleatha Romig is a stand alone erotic thriller. I've learned to expect a plot twist when reading a book by Aleatha Romig, and Insidious was no exception. Insidious is a story that will take you on an adventure to the "dark side''. You will enjoy the journey and won't be disappointed.  Victoria's step-father has a gambling problem and her mother has a spending problem. Victoria's step-father becomes indebted to the wrong people and her parents choose to make a business deal to resolve their problems. Unbeknownst to Victoria, she is offered as a trade.

"Randall came to me for help. I have money that I can lend. The thing is... I don't need it. Therefore, I decided that in exchange for the money I wanted something else...something less conventional in return"
At the age of eighteen Victoria Conway signs a contract with Stewart Harrington  that ensures marriage and complete control of her body for his sexual desires.

Victoria Conway Harrington may not have known what she was really getting into when she signed that contract, but she learns to follow the rules and plays the wife of Stewart Harrington very well.

"After all, the acting wasn't new. I've been doing it my whole life. Only now, the truth that I kept buried, the one that ate at me day and night since I was old enough to remember, was a reality. Nevertheless, It was too painful to reveal, too upsetting for those around me. I needed to show them what they wanted, what they needed. They didn't want to see who I truly was...what I truly was"

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

So I'll start of by saying I wasn't sure what to expect going in to this book. This young adult novel had mixed reviews, but don't let it discourage you. This book was definitely unexpected.

Mara Dyer wakes up In the hospital following a tragic accident. Unfortunately, Mara is the only one who really knows what happened that night in the abandoned asylum. A rebellious teen adventure goes wrong. Mara is left questioning herself and haunted by nightmares. Mara convinces her family to move from their home in Rhode Island to Florida. Mara is enrolled in a prestigious private school where she meets Noah Shaw.

Noah Shaw is the boy with the bad reputation and the "I don't care" attitude. He is loveable, sweet, and simply gorgeous.

"The boy-if he could be called that, looking like he belonged in college, not high school-wore chucks with holes worn through, no laces. Slim charcoal pants and a white button down shirt covered his lean, spare frame. His tie was loose, his cuffs were undone, and his blazer lay in a heap beside him as he lazily leaned back on the palms of his hands. His strong jaw and chin were slightly scruffy, as though he hadn't shaved in days, and his eyes looked gray in the shade. Strands of his dark chestnut hair struck out every which way. Bedroom hair."

Mara does not have the best of luck making friends at her new school, especially after getting the attention of the hottest boy in school. Noah tries his best to charm Maya, but she's reluctant. Maya admits she's broken.
"..please don't argue with me when I tell you that there is

something seriously wrong with me ...there's nothing anyone can do to fix it."
Noah -"Let me try"

And that was the moment I started to fall in love with Noah Shaw.

As their story unravels the author takes you on a dark adventure that keeps you captivated and second guessing yourself until the end.

What I'm Reading and Upcomming Releases.

So, I thought I would write a post about what I'm currently reading and what new releases I'm looking forward to!

I'm currently devouring this young adult read The 100 by Kass Morgan.  It's a science fiction and post apocalyptic. The book has also been turned into a popular tv series on the CW network. I'm anxious to finish the book and start binge watching the show.

Book synopsis:
In the future, humans live in city-like spaceships orbiting far above Earth's toxic atmosphere. No one knows when, or even if, the long-abandoned planet will be habitable again. But faced with dwindling resources and a growing populace, government leaders know they must reclaim their homeland... before it's too late.

Now, one hundred juvenile delinquents are being sent on a high-stakes mission to recolonize Earth. After a brutal crash landing, the teens arrive on a savagely beautiful planet they've only seen from space. Confronting the dangers of this rugged new world, they struggle to form a tentative community. But they're haunted by their past and uncertain about the future. To survive, they must learn to trust - and even love - again

                                                    "Love Will Conquer All"
The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead releases 02/10/15 and is the final book in the bloodlines series. I'm so sad to see this series ending.  Mead promises to tie up some loose ends from the Vampire Academy series. I'm hoping to see more of Rose and Dimitri in the final installment, and maybe a wedding! Here is a teaser trailer for The Ruby Circle and a link to the youtube video.

The Return by Jennifer L. Armentrout releases 02/17/15 and is a spin off from the Covenant series. I would recommend reading the covenant series first to get a back story on the main character Seth. I'm very excited for this series because its going to be New Adult Paranormal book!!

Book Synopsis:
The Fates are cackling their bony asses off…

It’s been a year since Seth made the deal with the gods that pledged his life to them. And so far, the jobs they’ve given him have been violent and bloody–which is kind of all right with him. But now Apollo has something else in mind for Seth. He’s got to play protector while keeping his hands and fingers off, and for someone who really has a problem with restraint, this new assignment might be the most challenging yet.

Josie has no idea what this crazy hot guy’s deal might be, but it’s a good bet that his arrival means the new life she started after leaving home is about to be thrown into an Olympian-sized blender turned up to puree. Either Josie is going insane or a nightmare straight out of ancient myth is gunning for her.

But it might be the unlikely attraction simmering between her and the golden-eyed, secret-keeping Seth that may prove to be the most dangerous thing of all.

Because history has once again been flipped to repeat.

Insatiable by Meg Cabot

"If I've learned anything in this life Meena, it's that there are a lot of scary things out there. Sometimes I just want to go into a windowless room until the sun comes back up, and the scary things have gone away.
But the truth is ...those scary things aren't going to just go away on their own."

Insatiable by Meg Cabot was a very captivating read for me. The story played out like a romantic comedy movie with just enough action without overdoing it. Meena Harper is a writer for a popular soap Insatiable. Meena is frankly tired of hearing about vampires and especially the rival soap Lust with it's lead vampire character. Meena's world starts to unravel when she looses the head writer promotion to her airhead co-worker Shoshana Metzenbaum.  As if things can't get worse for Meena she gets invited to her dinner party by her overbearing neighbor MaryLou, whom is constantly trying to fix her up with someone. The only men in Meena's life happen to be her dog Jack Bauer and her unemployed brother Jon who currently lives with her. Also Meena possesses the psychic ability to tell how someone is going to die. So that kind of makes her a freak and puts a damper on the love life.

Someone has been killing young women in New York city and leaving their naked bodies throughout the city. The bodies of these women have also been drained of blood. You can see how this could be bad because humans are not to be aware of the existence of vampires. In addition, it's also forbidden for vampires to take blood from unwilling donors.

Lucien Antonescu is a professor of European history , a writer, and he lives in Romania. Oh and he is The Prince of Darkness. Along with his charming good looks, he's rich, and he has a castle. He's the perfect package except for the matter of being undead.

Alaric Wulf works for a secret Vatican organization, the Palatine guard. He hunts vampires and is responsible  for keeping the existence of vampires unknown. He enjoys his work and getting to use his sword Senor Sticky.

This book is written with multiple point of views so you get to see into the mind of each character. This is the second book I've read by Meg Cabot. I enjoy her writing style and I can always count on this author to keep me laughing. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a light read with a little paranormal romance.
