The Cellar by Natasha Preston
Natasha Preston is an indie author who started out on Wattpad, which i think is pretty awesome! The Cellar is the first book by Natasha that I've had the pleasure of reading. I was very impressed by this hauntingly good read. The main character Summer Robinson is a sixteen year old girl with the overprotective loveable boyfriend and the normal teenage life. Her night out with friends does not goes as planned and she finds herself a victim of Clover. Clover is the ultimate psychopathic, narcissistic villain with the hidden cellar inside his house hence the title. The cover of the book is wonderful and creepy in itself. Summer finds herself with a new identity as Lily, one of Clover's special flowers. Clover's intentions are to make the world a better place in his own eyes and create the perfect family. I was very impressed with the main character's ability to think logically and stay strong. I don't think many 16 year old in her situation would be able to react the same. I enjoyed the side characters as well as Summer's boyfriend Lewis. Lewis never gave up searching for Summer and he was very admirable. This story is quite disturbing and definitely a dark read.
Tear by Rachel Van Dyken
"What do you do when you're drowning, but the only way to be free is to hold on to the one thing in all the world you're afraid won't be able to keep both of you afloat."
This is the second book I've read by Rachel Van Dyken. I enjoyed her writing style and her books are very captivating. The book did have plenty of laugh out loud moments and i found myself highlighting a couple of quotes. I think I would have read this book in one sitting except I had to get sleep and am responsible for another human. Tear is the first in the seaside series. It's a young adult book about a love triangle between a high school senior. Natalee Murray, in the town Seaside, Oregon whom falls in love with two brothers. This is your normal love triangle.except these two brothers happen to be rock stars of the band AD2. Alec and Demetri are polar opposites. Whereas Alec has beautiful green eyes, constantly brooding, and quiet, Demetri is blue eyed and the ultimate life of the party. AD2 is taking a break from touring and are residing in Oregon, while they focus on their personal live as in that is their cover story. The brothers are hiding the real story of what has been going on in their personal lives and are fearful of losing Natalee if the truth comes out. I loved Demetri and Alec, but I found Natalee to be a little annoying. The girl pretty much cries throughout the whole book. The author did seem to mention twilight and Stephanie Meyer quite often in this book. I did get the feel as this could possibly be twilight fan fiction, fair warning.
"It was so easy with him. It was like, oh gosh I'm totally going to kill Stephanie Meyer and Twilight. It really was like breathing. Sorry Jacob and Bella, but it's true. And I'm sorry, but being with a werewolf would not be like breathing. It would be like dying. "
The author seems to have a pretty accurate description of high school.."And to answer your question, they're high schoolers. Imagine Hollywood, only the drugs are cheaper, the women are looser, the men are hornier, and everyone's hormones are spiked like they're high on ecstasy."
I plan on reading the next book in this series by Rachel Van Dyken, Pull.

Take Me On by Katie McGarry
The series in order:
Pushing The Limits(Noah and Echo)
Dare You to(Beth/Ryan/Isaiah)
Crash Into You(Rachel-West's Younger sister and Isaiah)
Take Me On (West and Haley)
Providence by Jamie McGuire
"Sweet potato fries", "Sweet potato fries"(you will get it once you read it)
..."I still think I can make you happy. If it's what you want,I'll step aside. But if it's not,I'll fight fate. I'll fight Heaven and Hell and everything in between to keep you."...
I have to start off by saying I love everything this woman writes. She's a best selling author with epic talent. I would say this book was a mixture between a young adult and new adult book at times.Providence is the first book in the series and is a paranormal romance. This book starts off after Nina loses her beloved father. Nina meets Jared Ryel by chance, but Jared seems to always show up in the right moment. Coincidence or not? Jared has these angelic features that would impress any girl and he has this obsession with sweet potato fries. As the story unfolds Nina starts to discover her father was not the man she thought he was. Nina uncovers her father's dark secrets and how Jared becomes involved with her life.Nina and Jared find themselves in a battle between Heaven and Hell. Will they follow destiny or create their on path?
I really enjoyed Providence and I would give it an overall four stars. I look forward to reading Requiem next.
